My precious small group leader and one-on-one: Jenni. We are out with the rest of our small group having what else--coffee! What can I say, even here in Australia, it seems that we all can't get enough of our coffee and chai. I'm actually wearing that same shirt today; crazy, huh? Well, our teams are getting ready for outreach in 10 days or so. We have 1 team going to Vanawatu & Australia, while the other 2 teams are going to Darjeeling, India (I'm on that one). Well, I'm off to get some beauty sleep, but thank you for all of your prayers and amazing support. I love y'all! xoxo

Love always in Christ,

Hellen :) <><

Merry Christmas to all! I pray that each of you are having an amazing one and a day that is filled with the amazing grace of our Savior! xoxo

I will make you a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth. –Isaiah 49:6

But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire…-Daniel 3:25

Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

–Ephesians 5:14

As I embrace this Christmas, I have reminisced over my memories of Christmas. As I recollect the numerous nights of White Christmas, sleeping in my Christmas pajamas, and putting the angel on the tree, one special memory always comes to mind: the singing of silent night a capella with lit candles. This was a memory that I still needed—even in the sizzling hot temperatures of Australia. So, last night, I took my tapered candle and went out by myself, after a group of us had returned from worship, and sang Silent Night. The entire place was filled with darkness except this tiny flame.

This soon had me thinking and the Lord sparked a message in my heart. Even when everything around you is dark and silent, I want you to even there—sing my praises and shine the light I’ve given you. “I will make you a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth” (Isaiah 49:6). This word lit hope inside my heart and the Lord encouraged me to encourage you. He wants you to shine His light wherever you are—whether in the financial world of New York City, the stages of Nashville, or in the walls of a classroom, He longs for you to spread what has been given to you. Then, a tiny flame will ignite the earth and the world will be “walking in the midst of the fire” (Daniel 3:25). Christ didn’t just come to place a light on pastors, youth ministers, or missionaries. He came to give us all life: and with that, to give us light. “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Ephesians 5:14). Spread light and not just today—on Christmas, but on every day. Let your Christmas memory be the remembrance of the gift. And remember—it only takes a spark to get a fire going…(spiritual hymn).

P.S. Merry Merry Christmas!!! I love y’all!

So, goodness--it really has been awhile. Well, I've made it to Australia and have been calling it home now for about 5 weeks. The Lord has been blessing me with new friendships and lessons. I have been able to witness the love of the Father in amazing and incredible ways. It is great to be in a place where you're encouraged, built up and nurtured. Thank y'all for all of your prayers.

Right now--I'm actually preparing to leave for 3 weeks. My school leaves tomorrow morning (7 a.m., baby) to go to the Jim Steir conference. We'll be there a week before heading to the Gold Coast Beach to minister at Schoolies (high school mega party) for a week. After that, we'll be heading down to Byron Bay to minister there as well. So, yeah...lots is going on, but I'm thoroughly excited! I promise to take more pictures and send them along as well. I can't believe that it's almost Thanksgiving! It really doesn't feel like that at all here, since it's so warm. But don't y'all worry--I'm getting in my fill of the winter when I head to India in February.

Keep me updated on all that's going on in your lives! I love y'all and send loads of love!

In Christ alone,

Hellen :) <><

Hello, hello everyone! So, as of yesterday morning, I am YWAM Australia bound. God has been so gracious to get me to this point and His timing is always perfect. Anyway, there is so much to do (more than you could possibly imagine) and I couldn't begin to get it done all alone. So, if you feel inclined, I would feel extremely grateful for your help and prayers. As many of you know, I am support raising. At one time, I believed that I would atleast have 2 months. Now, I see that I really have a little bit under a month to get the money raised. I know that God is good and He has given me the resources/connections to make this happen--especially since I feel like it's in His will. I love y'all and will send updated information VERY soon! Lastly, I am in need of the following to get me out of NYC to Australia:

1. A ride/car home to Savannah where I'd be able to transport my non-furniture items home
2. Any airline connections offering me discounts internationally, etc.
3. Any fund-raising ideas
4. Backpackers backpack for Australia and outreach work
5. Postage/office expenses or supplies
6. Blank CDs for making my support letter or empty discs
7. Your many prayers for God's miraculous provision

More prayer requests/needs will be sent shortly. I will also be sending out a letter of hope to y'all via email and snail mail. Lots of love and thanks for the encouragement!
In Christ alone,
Hellen :) <><
